Msi gt70 2pc gpu cpu temp monitor2/19/2024 So MSI provided a different way to switch between the iGPU and dGPU-they provided a hardware "GPU" button. MSI couldn't use it because it doesn't support SLI configurations and, if my memory is correct, this began with GT72 models (the first to offer SLI compatibility). Newer GT-series notebooks (like my GT80 2QE) do not use Optimus. Both the iGPU and dGPU are visible at the same time in Optimus systems and both GPUs should be visible in the Windows Device Manager at the same time. But your Device Manager statement is backwards. I think you're right that the GT70 2PC probably does use Optimus. When I open bios i dont see nvidia dGPU anywhere listed, i only see intell haswell graphics controller and Intel GOP driver listed, is this normal? in case if the GPU was working perfectly how does the BIOS show the nvidia gpu?Īny other suggestions and help really appreaciated?. I have come to the conclusion either my GPU is dead or my motherboard is not supplying power to GPU pci slot, maybe when i was soldering the power jack i could have done something bad. even cleaned out GPU motherboards and also tried heating gun on the GPU. I tried everything flashed BIOS, EC installed chipset drivers. There had been alot of problems with power jack recently and since it was out of warranty I bought a power jack and soldered myself, everything was working perfectly.įollowing this I noticed that my laptop as soon I start, sometimes even in bios the fan runs at 100%, and I only see intel HD graphics in windows and so cant even open nvidia control panel. I have a MSI GT 70 2 PC dominator laptop, It is almost four years old, so not in warranty atm.
